A cute idea for a DIY Valentine’s Day Gift Basket for a Teen! The teenager in your life will love it!

DIY Valentine's Day Gift Basket

Can you believe Valentine’s Day is literally only about three weeks away at this point? You know all about Easter baskets, overflowing with delicious candy for your children.

But what about a Valentine’s day basket? And what about teenagers? They aren’t all in relationships, but they are loved by you. So why not celebrate them. Make this Valentine’s day even sweeter for your littlest (and bigger) loved ones with a DIY Valentine’s Day Gift Basket surprise!

Why does Valentine’s day always have to be about love for couples?

I love my children and teens, so every year I do something for them on Valentine’s day too.

This year Hershey’s and their Message of Love campaign has inspired and helped me put together some fantastic DIY Valentine’s Day Gift Baskets for my kids including Hershey’s Kisses Conversation Candies and Reese’s Conversation Cups.

Whenever I do a basket of any kind, most especially for my teenagers, I try to find a container, basket or other item that can be used for something else afterward.

Since I am making baskets for teenagers, I wanted something that could be decorated to suit the holiday, but that could easily be “undecorated” to be used later.

We purchased four baskets in different colors for each teen. We attached slate hearts, stars and squares to each basket with their name. We weaved thread through the different holes in the basket to give it a creative yet simple look.

After lots of time looking for crafty ways to decorate the baskets, we finally settled on some items from a dollar spot and put them all together. We were so happy with how they each turned out. The one pictured was my favorite.

We filled each DIY Valentine’s Day Gift Basket with a selection of Hershey treats, gift cards, snacks and other fun things. The only thing left to do now, is wait until February 14, and then we will hide the baskets and send the kids on a scavenger hunt to find them.

We do it with the Easter baskets, it’s time to carry on the tradition with our Valentine’s day baskets.
